The Notes window allows you to write personal notes and save them into the NOTES directory/folder. The notepad was not designed to be a complete word processing software, and therefore has limited features. However, your notes can be saved and later opened from your own word processing program.
To write and save a new note, open the Notes window and begin typing. Once you are finished, select Save or Save As... under the File menu. A new window will appear which will prompt you to enter a name for your note. Above the entry box for the note name, there is a window with the names of all existing notes in your directory. After you type the name of the new note, click on Save to save it, or on Cancel to resume typing. Windows users should save their notes under a name that is eight characters or less and which is followed by ".TXT". For example: 8LETTERS.TXT.
To open an existing note, select Open... under the File menu. A window will appear which will show all existing notes in the NOTES directory/folder. Select the note you wish to open by clicking on its name. The note will appear in the Notes window. You can now edit the note. If you later move the file to a different folder or directory, you will no longer see it under the list of files when opening and editing existing note files.
SAVE AS...
The Save As ... command under the File menu can be used to save a new or existing note under a different name. If you select Save As... then a new window will appear which will prompt you to enter a name for your note.
